The Technical Center of Jincheng Corporation Ltd. was established in 1996 and approved as a national-grade technical center in 1997 by the Economy and Trade Commission, the State Administration of Taxation and the General Administration of Customs.
The center has a staff of 332, of which 224 are technicians (including 64 engineers, 52 senior engineers, 4 professor-grade senior engineers and 10 experts who enjoy special allowance issued by the State Council). The center, headed by one director and 1-2 deputy directors, has 4 departments, i.e. motorcycle research center, hydraulic product research center, mass production technology center and general affairs department.
The center has a strong R&D team working in a system ideal for R & D. It owns advanced technical equipment, including motorcycle test equipment such as the test board of simulated motorcycle road, chassis performance test board, engine life-span test board and shock absorber test board, and development equipment such as three-dimensional coordinator, laser scanner, and fast moulding machine to greatly shorten the product development cycle.
The CIMS technology Application Demonstration Project of Jincheng Corp
The Jincheng CIMS demonstration project is a leading project in the China 863 High-Technology Plan for the CIMS automation field. Since 1995, Jincheng has completed the first two phases of the project.
In the first phase MRP-II has installed, and the modern administrative methods have been applied to assembly, manufacturing, subcontracted manufacturing and outside purchasing. The 3D and 2D designs have now been in use. With PDA as effective control methods for production and file management, Jincheng is now able to carry out parallel projects and provide online technical support. With the PDA system in place, Jincheng is now able to separate the design taskforce and the manufacturing facilities in different locations.
With MRP-II completed, Jincheng integrates the whole vehicle simulation assembling with CAE technology. The bar code technology has been used to manage and control all the assembling operations both at the Husu Assembly Plant and other 10 assembling subsidiaries. The bar code technology is also used to trace distributions handled by sales company.
The first phase was approved by the national authorities in May 1998. Thanks to excellent application results, the first phase project was awarded with a long list of honors including "the Excellent Management Achievement Prize of China," "1998 CIMS Application Leader of China", " First Prize for Outstanding Science and Technology Progress in Jiangsu Province," etc. The Jincheng Corp was listed as one of the three domestic businesses showcasing its CIMS project, by Ministry of Science and Technology and China 863/CIMS Topic Expert Group in December 1998.
The second phase of the project started at the end of 1998, aiming to build five sub-systems for administration, product research and development, quality management and control, production management and control, and marketing and sales respectively, by the means of the parallel engineering, fast service chain, engineering rationalization and advanced applications of MRPⅡ.
In collaborations with a technological support group whose members were from Shanghai Communications University, Southeast University, China Academy of Sciences, and governmental offices at state, provincial and municipal levels, the Jincheng has completed the second phase of the project.
Its 13 sub-projects and three integration projects have all been completed and come into operations. In November 2000, the Jincheng CIMS second phase project passed the state appraisal for acceptance without a hitch.
The CIMS application project has greatly enhanced the comprehensive strength and given Jincheng Corp a sharp edge for market competition.
In order to popularize the CIMS and promote the progress of industrial competition in China, Jincheng Corp has started since 2000 to commercialize its own achievements, with the aid of Ministry of Science and Technology and governmental offices at the provincial and municipal levels. So far Nanchang Airplane Manufacturing Corporation, Liming Engine Co. Ltd and Yang Zhou Tonghua Trailer Works have bought the consultation services and information services from The Jincheng Corp.
